Counter-Strike 2 is Valve's free-to-play tactical shooter where two teams of five trade rounds of bomb plants, defuses and precise gunplay on the Source 2 engine.
About the Game
Counter-Strike 2 replaced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in September 2023 and carried over player inventories. The core loop is unchanged: Terrorists try to plant the bomb, Counter-Terrorists try to stop them, and every round you spend money earned from the last one.
The move to Source 2 introduced sub-tick updates, which register actions between server ticks, and volumetric smoke grenades that react to lighting, gunfire and explosions. Premier mode adds a visible CS Rating and a map pick-and-ban phase before each match.
